Beauty(?) and the Beast

Everyone says "it doesn't matter how tall/thin/short/fat etc you are. What matters most is your character."
The point? That is not true. I mean, people who say than are
a) famous
b) pretty.
Also, today no one cares about your character. Everyone judges you from your appearance.
 :(
Think of it.  There are a lot of "beasts" out there that can't find anyone to love them just because they are ugly.
Remember Ugly Betty? Patty? Beast from Beauty and the Beast? They had a makeover and then they got married/loved/in relationship.
Or all these films on Disney Channel. The characters are supposed to pass this message to young kids.
But if you see them, they are all Miss Beauty.
If they want to encourage kids, why isn't there a film that the main character(s) is fat, short, with a face full of zits, glasses, braces and horrible style? Only with a movie like that teens will believe in themselves. Because, admit it, all teenagers have at least two of these characteristics I mentioned before.
